Big news from the Plug In Stations team: we're relocating to a brand-new, purpose-built facility designed to support the next phase of growth for our customers, installation partners, and the UK EV charging industry.
As demand for electric vehicle infrastructure accelerates across the country – driven by government policy, falling EV costs, and a maturing charging network – we've outgrown our current space. The move to Cuffley represents a significant investment in logistics, stock capacity, and customer service, and it's all about making sure we can deliver the speed, reliability, and support that installers and site hosts expect from us.
The UK EV charging market is at an inflection point. Government schemes like the Depot Charging Scheme, potential VAT cuts on public charging, and local authority commitments to on-street and destination infrastructure are creating unprecedented demand for chargepoints, installation expertise, and rapid fulfilment.
Our current facility has served us well, but as order volumes have increased and our product range has expanded, we've hit capacity constraints that slow down dispatch times, limit stock availability, and make it harder to offer the same-day and next-day service our partners rely on.
The new Cuffley site changes that equation completely. With significantly more warehouse space, better logistics infrastructure, and room to scale as the market grows, we'll be able to:
Increased warehousing means we can hold deeper inventory across our full range of AC and DC chargers, accessories, and installation components. That translates into fewer backorders, faster restocks, and the ability to fulfil large multi-site orders without delays.
Improved logistics and warehouse layout mean we can pick, pack, and ship orders more efficiently. For installation partners working to tight project deadlines – especially those chasing funded schemes like the Depot Charging Scheme – faster dispatch could be the difference between hitting a March 2026 deadline and missing out on reimbursement.
The new facility isn't just about meeting today's demand – it's about future-proofing for the next three to five years of market growth. As the UK pushes toward 80% EV sales by 2030 and infrastructure rollout accelerates, we want to be the partner installers know they can rely on, even during periods of peak demand.
More space also means room for enhanced customer support, technical training, and installer partnership programmes. We're planning to use the new site as a hub for product demos, installer workshops, and industry events – helping our partners stay ahead of the curve on new technologies, installation best practices, and funding opportunities.
We're documenting the entire move on our social channels – from the initial site prep and fit-out through to the first dispatch from the new warehouse. If you want to see behind the scenes as we build the new Plug In Stations from the ground up, follow us on Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
This is just the beginning. The move to Cuffley reflects our commitment to being the go-to partner for EV charging installers across the UK – and we can't wait to show you what's next.
